From 22 to 25 July 1982 The festival is now a five day affair with the introduction of a ‘pre-concert’ evening on the Tuesday. The first of these is an all English affair, with Joe Jackson, Echo and the Bunnymen and Alvin Lee. Three days later, Joan Baez breaks the attendance records by attracting 22,000 people to her concert. Francis Lalanne personifies the renaissance of French chanson. At the end of the day, the 7th edition of the festival brings together an audience of 55,000 people. |
